About Our Love for the Children

Our Story

Merciful Redeemer Children’s home was started in September 2002 by the Late Rev. Anne Mugane. It started with one child who turns 23 years old. In a few weeks there were five children in her house in  Nairobi South C. The numbers continued to growing and there was no enough room to accomodate them. With the help of the government she was allocated a piece of land in the slums of Mutumba adjacent to Nairobi Wilson Airport. There were challenges to this setting, which include rising insecurity especially for the girl child. There was illicit brewing dens surrounding the home, and being adjacent to the airport, the government would not give or sell the land permanently. Rev Anne found favor with God and man and a land was bought in Kitengela (Current Location). Here permanent structures were put up. A School was also set up in the premises. On the land we grow subsistence food, rear pigs, cows and chicken. Currently there are 120 children at Merciful redeemer. As we continue serving the less fortunate, we acknowledge that this far has brought us and He is truly Our Ebenezer and His name be praised forever and ever Amen.

Doers of the word

James 2:15-16
“Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?”
